Evening Kids
As promised I JUST HAD to share my thoughts with you about this apparent “showdown” that was supposed to take place on the red carpet between the darling Angelina Jolie, and the always manish Jennifer Aniston.
Pluuuuuhhhhessse NO SHOWDOWN HERE!!
PLEASE.. There was NO SHOWDOWN, or MATCH to be had. All media hype, to get us to tune in. I must say it did work, at least for me I was glued to the tube at 6pm sharp to watch my favorites do their red carpet shuffle.
Those of you who frequent Nightly Candy, know I am no fan of the work of Ms. Aniston, nor I am a fan of her fashion. I ALWAYS will give props to anyone who looks great at any moment (it’s the fashionista in me, I cannot help but keep it real). I’ve seen Jennifer look WAY better at NYC move premieres (that’s not saying much) then she looked at the Oscars. What happened? I thought she was going to do her ultimate best to BANG it out of the park and stand out. Her dress looked very similar to many of the red carpet looks that evening. There were waaaay to many white dresses that were diamond encrusted i.e Anne Hathaway, Carrie Underwood, Sarah Jessica Parker, etc. I would have loved to see her in some COLOR like cobalt blue, an emerald green. This white dress washes her already pale skin right out!

Can we talk about her hair? It looks like a four year old did that braid thing on top? It totally looked like she had taken a nap after getting it done and rushed straight in the limo ! It just looked a hot mess and didn’t translate well on camera.
So Maniston/Mayer totally dodged BRANGELINA on the red carpet, which was a good move on Maniston’s part, because she probably would have burst in to tears. She had the opportunity to really KNOCK it out of the park as a presenter with Jack Black. Of course Jack Black is the King of Funny, but if I were her (the horror!!!) I would have begged the Academy to give me a zinger that I would have practiced, and practiced so that I nailed it. Well, maybe she did try her best, but as usual Maniston misses the mark. On camera to me, she always comes across with this uncomfortable stiffness that just doesn’t come across as funny. Imagine Tina Fey, or Sarah Jessica Parker, or Reese Witherspoon delivering that line! We would have “really” been laughing, not given the sympathy chuckles that came from the auidence. The ever so gracious Angelina knew those camera would zoom right in on her at Jen’s moment, so she gave her sympathy yucks right there with Brad as I am sure they had agreed to do before hand.
The King and Queen of the night, hands down were Brad and Angie. Undoubtedely the most dashing and best dressed couple of the evening!

What an amazing HONOR it must have been for them to not only been the most amazing looking couple at the Oscars, but to both receive oscar nods? Has that ever happened before in Academy history? Hmm that’s one for the fact books, I’m sure someone will write in with the answer. But seriously, Maniston just must have been dying slowly inside when both Angelina and Brad were lavished with praise and accolades by the industry GIANTS like Sophia Loren, Shirley McClaine, Halle Berry, Robert Dinero, Christopher Walkin . Really amazing ACTORS, not corny sitcom stars. Even though they both did not win, it must have been amazing and real stroke to the ego for them to have heard those words from Nicole Kidman to Angelina on her amazing performance in Changeling.
It was equally as fabulous to hear Sir Anthony Hopkins shower Brad with sincere comments. You could tell it was straight from his heart, because Brad and Sir Hopkins starred together in Meet Joe Black (that is a FANTASTIC movie! If you haven’t seen it.. I suggest you see it on line!)
Awwwh…. I’m actually feeling bad again for Maniston. She will just never reach that level of stardom. Well, she’ll continue to makes cheesy romantic comedy “comedies”. Unfortunatley for the rest of us, they will never go out of style.

Ahh Nightly, you know the right words to my heart. But to the topic, I couldn’t have said best. Jennifer Aniston had to take a back seat to Brangelina. They were gorgeous. They were Hollywood Royalty as we know it. Is me but doesn’t wear these similiar dresses all the time because I remember seeing her in dress like this when she was with Brad or am I mistaken?

I am not sure about the Jenn’s dress.
I am sure someone will see this, and if it is true she did wear something similar

Of course we have no idea how he is as the person Brad Pitt, but going just on his acting ability

I just really wish she didn’t go as it turned the Oscar’s into some type of tabloid silliness….it’s 4 years old already, she and others need to let it go already….I’m so tired of her crap…she’s just blah…

Come to think of it, in as much as we wanted at first for X not to spoil AJ & BP’s Oscar night by her undeserved appearance on the same event in order to avoid undue publicity, it turned out it’s a BLESSING IN DISGUISE to AJ & BP after all. Because of X’s insistence or for taking advantage of the opportunity that’s given to her by the Academy organizers even knowing she’s just being used for rating purposes, her appearance BACKFIRED on her. Contrary to what she desperately wished, it caused a negative result on her because of how she particularly acted during the award proper, besides her so-so outfit, hairstyle, make-up, desperate poses & stance (especially during after party). She gave the public a GLIMPSE or look of what X is truly made of. She became some sort of a “laughing stock” during that night. She gave the audience & viewers a good reason, though how flimsy it might be, why she can never be on the same league as AJ; why there’s no contest between AJ & X; That the only reason why she’s mentioned on the same breathe as A is due mainly to BP.
One thing is clear, well at least for me, as I see it, no matter how much she tries to convince the public that she has already moved on, I think she still can’t accept whatever happened to her failed marriage. That’s why, AJ is UNFAIRLY made as a CONVENIENT SCAPEGOAT for that failure to avoid X’s share of responsibility to it.
Mayer and other short-term relationships X had, after BP, are all facade. So, only when she stops coattail-riding and trying to put the JP’s down, I can really say she has indeed moved on. The moment she decides to let go of AJ & BP from her system, that’s the time she will be taken seriously by the public.

AJ’s dress may not be the most beautiful that Oscar night but it was definitely THE MOST elegant & the MOST talked about & seen (in a positive way), together with her hairstyle, make-up & accessories (oh how I love her emerald earrings & ring). Everything just fits & complements very well, objectively speaking.
Her total look is very pleasing to the eyes. No excessive make-up and blings. Unlike other celebrities who are eye-sore due to too much accessories & make-up, AJ is very consistent on her preference to being minimal. She is always simple yet elegant. She is already very beautiful, so whatever she wears must not outshine her.
It’s all about how she wears her outfit instead of the outfit “wearing” her. Because it was AJ, she makes it special in carrying her dress. The confidence she exudes and the positive aura she radiates are very special elements that makes her very elegant. And effortless at that !!!! Besides, she has enough accessories that go with it. She doesn’t look like a Christmas Tree.
AJ’s posture and stance also enhances the beauty of her outfit. Other celebrities tend to poise too much. They hard-sell their dresses. AJ don’t do that. She just walks slowly & stands before the cameras with so much grace and she’s very relaxed. She’s just different from the rest. She exactly knows what she’s wearing & doing.
Thus, it’s no wonder why AJ is an epitome of simplicity, elegance, confidence & class rolled into one.

Hello again..
I just wanted to share an observation regarding John Mayer and his and Jennifer’s appearance. I caught a clip of his interview with Ryan S. on that radio show he has. Did anyone other than me notice that all John talked about was himself. He talked about how he felt at the Oscars. He talked about him being nervous. He talked about how he felt like a second wheel at the Oscars. Oh and how sweet Jennifer was to him that night. He also talked about how he wanted to meet the “stars”.. But where was the praise for Jennifer. He said nothing that I heard of how she looked, how proud he was to be with her. He did not talk about her in any way that would say this is the woman I love. No he said he was an Oscar Boyfriend. WTF does that mean. He is still a little boy and has not grown up. This is the man she chose to be the man in her life. When he talks about her it is like he is talking about a nameless woman whose face can be interchanged with anyone. If Brad had not accompanied Angie on this kind of trip.. the haters would have lost their s***. But look at Jen/John. I just wonder how long this one will last. But then again I don’t really care one way or the other.
